Oz Senshi: Sailor Scraps

I've just been coloring older things of mine lately rather than drawing anything new....Shame on me.

This is Scraps the Patchwork Girl of Oz, from the 7th Oz book by L. Frank Baum done up as a Sailor Moon style character, since has made me want to do Sailor Moon stuff. I tried this series a couple of years ago when i made Sailor Ozma, Sailor Betsy Bobbin and Sailor Trot...but I hate the way those looked.


Anyways, as a kid, the Patchwork Girl used to really creep me out, especially in her title book where the pictures were nightmarish.
But that book was one of my favorites, it was stressful reading it though, unlike the MGM musical, the books are very dark and creepy at times, and the book she appears in involves man eating plants, people being turned to stone, inanimate objects coming to life through sorcery, roads that take you no where, monsters, horned people who dwell in caves under ground and a quest that eventually fails, causing the hero to break down and cry...for a kid that was really stressful.

Scraps is still a loyal friend to the main character, Ojo though, and helps lighten the tale a bit.
